The Plockton Inn Seafood Restaurant is very well known
for its high quality dishes. Taking advantage of the abundant seafood
available from Loch Carron, you can be sure of a wonderful meal. The
giant langoustine and in house smoked seafood dishes are a must!
The Plockton Hotel specialises in seafood. (They were even voted AA
seafood pub of the year 2002 and won the Talisker Award in 2003!) Platters of prawns landed
only moments previously can be enjoyed along with
the freshest fish and shellfish. Succulent Highland
steaks and locally reared beef also add to the wealth
of other tempting Scottish ingredients grown and produced
locally. And of course a fine range of Malts are available
to round off yet another perfect day.
Off The Rails is situated on the old 19th century
Plockton railway station
platform, Ann & Ian James offer a comprehensive reasonably priced
dinner menu to suit all tastes, with freshly prepared dishes ranging
from succulent Aberdeen Angus steaks, West Coast scallops, locally
caught prawns and deep-fried haddock, to chicken, game and vegetarian
dishes, all carefully prepared by the award-winning chef proprietor.
Jann and Neil MacRae invite you eat at the
Seafood Restaurant.
They specialise in fresh, locally caught seafood, much of it fished by
Neil himself in the abundant waters of Lochalsh and Skye, and served to
you the same day. Find them at Kyle of Lochalsh station, at the
terminus of one of the most scenic railway lines in the world, the Kyle
line.
Situated on the beautiful Applecross peninsula, the
Applecross Inn is
around an hour away from The Old Post Office House, but is well worth
the drive. The journey takes you through some breathtaking scenery and
once you have arrived you can't fail to be impressed by the enormous
selection of dishes available. As with many establishments in this part
of the world, seafood is a speciality, but there is such a varied
selection of dishes available, there is something for everyone whether
it's seafood or not. Definitely worth a lunch trip!
